Welcome Back New and Old Pirates!

Welcome to the SYHS Agriculture Department!

My name is Heather Clement and I am very excited to be teaching Agriculture Earth Science and Agriculture Gov't/Economics at Santa Ynez High School! I hope to engage many students in the unique learning and leadership opportunities within the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization and our high school campus.

Experience

I was born and raised on the Central Coast. After graduating from a successful agriculture program at Paso Robles High School, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with a minor in Agriculture Business at CSU, Chico. I obtained my teaching credential and Agriculture Specialist credential from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and am currently working on my Master's Degree in Agriculture Education. I have worked in the agriculture industry as a floral designer for the Flower Lady, a national sales assistant for Earthbound Farm Organics, a clerk at the California Mid State Fair and as a tasting room saleperson at Tobin James Cellars.

Agriculture Education has been part of my life for many years. I have traveled the state, nation and internationally as a high school and college student through the FFA and other agriculture programs. I have had the opportunity to participate in national contests in marketing and livestock evaluation, coach state finalists in public speaking and advise State FFA Officer candidates.
