| October 1st- Football Clean-ups October 1st - Available Need money for college! The Scholarship Foundation of Barbara and the Santa Barbara Foundation application will be available at www.sbscholarship.org. Deadline to apply is January 31, 2012. OCTOBER 1st – NOVEMBER 30th CSU applications open up (www.csumentor.edu) October-Ask for letters of recommendation. Ask Mrs. Rodriguez for a blank form that you can fill out your info. that will help the person who has to write a letter of recommendation for you. Give recommenders enough notice at least 1 month. Plan Ahead! October - Go to Commonapp.org to begin filling out applications for private colleges October – now Open Gates Millennium Scholarship:– Deadline JANUARY 11th, 2012 October – now Open Santa Barbara Foundation: Deadline November 30th (get applications from guidance office in scholarship cabinet) October- now Open Hispanic Scholarship Fund: NOW OPEN- December(dates depend on the scholarship you wish to apply to make an account and then you can fill out applications through your account October - The Susan G. Komen College Scholarship is offering awards of up to $10,000 (per year for 4 years) for students facing significant financial burdens due to the loss of a parent to breast cancer. Students must be planning to attend a state university and pursuit a bachelor’s degree. More information and scholarship application available at www.komen.org/scholarship. November 18- OLA Field Trip, CSU Channel Islands November 30th -Deadline Santa Barbara Foundation (get applications from guidance office in scholarship cabinet) November 1, 2011 The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards are designed to recognize students who have demonstrated exemplary community service. Students who would like to be considered for this award are encouraged to complete an application located at http://spirit.prudential.com. Santa Ynez High will select one student from the completed applications.
