Special Board Meeting Public Comment Information

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting Executive Orders issued by Governor Newsom regarding procedures for transparency and participation by members of the public at public meetings, state and local legislative bodies have been provided flexibility from certain Brown Act requirements.  Specifically, the Executive Orders allow agencies to hold public meetings telephonically or otherwise electronically, and waived requirements for the physical presence of members in order to participate or establish a quorum.  Meetings held electronically must allow members of the public to observe and address the meeting electronically.  These flexibilities for the Brown Act remain in place while public health officials have imposed social distancing measures.

If you would like to address the SYVUHSD Board of Education at the March 26, 2020 special meeting, please be reminded that, since this is a special meeting of the Board, comments will be limited to only items that appear on the agenda.

There are two options for participation:

  1.       In Writing: Submit your comment via email, limited to 250 words or less, to the Assistant to the Superintendent, Terry Westfall, by 3:00 p.m. on March 26, 2020.  Her email address is twestfall@syvuhsd.org.   
  2.       By phone: If you would like to make a comment by phone, please call 805-686-3570 and state your name, phone number and which item you would like to speak on. You will be called at the appropriate time. Request for addressing the Board by phone must be received by 3:00 p.m. on March 26, 2020.
