2022 Welcome Message
August 26, 2022
Dear SYVUHSD Community,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! I look forward to coming together for a new school year focused on engaging learning, both inside the classroom and through our many extracurricular activities. I am already excited about the opportunities our dedicated staff have had to connect with our students and families these past few weeks. Our collective goal is to make this school year the best year possible for all our SYVUHSD students.
We are also focused on providing a safe learning environment for all while returning to our primary focus of teaching and learning. As we move into the new school year, we will continue to follow state and local public health protocols for COVID-19. More information about our current COVID-19 response can be found on the district website www.syvuhsd.org under COVID-19 Resources (direct link).
We are also firmly committed to future ready teaching and learning for the 21st Century. Our 1:1 (one-to-one) device program is in its second year with every student having access to a MacBook Air for use in class and at home. We will continue to integrate technology into our classroom learning environments to create opportunities for authentic, relevant learning that ensures students are prepared for their future 21st Century postsecondary endeavors.
Progress continues on our new state-of-the-art culinary arts classroom and kitchen modernization project. Thank you for your continued patience with the campus construction. We can’t wait for the project to be finished and our kitchen and cafeteria spaces to be reopened for full-service 2nd Semester.
Finally, I would like to thank the Board of Education for their continued leadership and support of our staff and students. A collective focus on doing what is best for students has consistently guided the leadership team, and I very much appreciate the dedication of our Board members for the time they volunteer in service to the district and community.
I know we all look forward to a safe, positive, and enjoyable school year for all our students.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Estimada comunidad SYVUHSD,
