Please note changes for public comment process: If you would like to address the SYVUHSD Board of Education at the August 5, 2020 special meeting, submit your digital public speaking card via email, by Wednesday, August 5 at 3:00 pm. You will be sent a unique join link to the meeting.  Participants will wait as an “attendee” until allowed to speak at meeting by the meeting host, Assistant to the Superintendent, Terry Westfall.  Requests for a digital speaking card can be requested by emailing Mrs. Westfall at twestfall@syvuhsd.org

Public speaking card request must include: 

  1. Your name
  2. Agenda item 
  3. Subject

 A time limit of three (3) minutes will be adhered to.

Reminder: As provided for in the Brown Act regarding special meetings of the Board, public comment at this meeting will be limited to only items on the agenda.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting Executive Orders issued by Governor Newsom regarding procedures for transparency and participation by members of the public at public meetings, state and local legislative bodies have been provided flexibility from certain Brown Act requirements. Specifically, the Executive Orders allow agencies to hold public meetings telephonically or otherwise electronically, and waived requirements for the physical presence of members in order to participate or establish a quorum. Meetings held electronically must allow members of the public to observe and address the meeting electronically. These flexibilities for the Brown Act remain in place while public health officials have imposed social distancing measures.
